A relative and I each own one floor of a large detached house as separate flats. We have been told we would get higher price selling as one. The flats have been occupied as one house, and are recognised as one house for Council Tax etc. Can we get one property report (Scotland), and advertise property as one house?

From what you tell me, yes. However I need a bit more information to be sure. Can you tell me:

    1. Has the house been converted into 2 flats i.e. with separate entrances, planning approval etc?
    2. Is there just one title (for the house)? If so do you and your relative own it jointly (as opposed to you owning one flat and him/her the other)?
